Shopping for the perfect Christmas gift can be hard work. It can also make you work up an appetite. Thankfully, when you're shopping in neighbourhoods like Mission, there are several dining options to help with that. Here are six restaurants that are worth checking out for brunch, lunch or dinner in Mission.

Anejo

Stop in at Anejo for a Mexican feast (and drink). In addition to dishes like red tuna ceviche, mole chicken, enchiladas and churros for dessert, Anejo has more than 200 kinds of tequila on its menu. â€‹If you happen to be here during happy hour, which runs every day from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., you can also get tacos for half price.

Mercato

A traditional, family-style Italian meal awaits at Mercato's Mission restaurant. Sit down with a group of friends or family members to enjoy a spread of dishes such as hand rolled gnocchi, tagliatelle, risotto, Fiorentina-style rib steak and more. On your way out, stop by the restaurant's market area to browse the selection of Italian groceries, fresh pasta and produce.

OEB

OEB's third location in Mission just opened on November 1, but it's already so popular that the wait to be seated can stretch to around two hours at peak times. Thankfully, you can put yourself in line from the comfort of your home using the Nowait app, then show up at the restaurant when the app says you're close to the front of the line. Trust us — OEB's egg-centric breakfast and brunch menu is well worth the wait.

Suzette Bistro

Don't be surprised if you feel like you've been transported to Brittany, France at Suzette Bistro's original location in Mission. While the restaurant offers a range of French cuisine, it's the savoury galettes and sweet crepes that take centre stage here. Start off with the Complète galette (with French ham, egg and Gruyère cheese), then finish with the Suzette crepe that features orange juice and flambéed Grand Marnier or the Bretonne crepe with caramel and salted butter.

Vin Room

Wine and tapas might just be exactly what you need after a long day of shopping. Snack on eggplant chips, lamb meatballs, lobster nachos, beef carpaccio and roasted cauliflower flatbread with a glass or bottle of one of the restaurant's dozens of wines. Vin Room also has a daily happy hour between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. to close.
