6 Great Desserts with White Chocolate

The weather outside is frightful, but white chocolate is so delightful.

White chocolate adds a sweet, creamy element to desserts.

White Chocolate has always had a rough go of it; the less beloved sibling to milk and dark chocolate, it’s dealt with detractors snubbing it for its lack of cocoa solids for a long time. These tasty treats demonstrate that, “real chocolate” or no, the ivory ingredient has a lot to offer for those willing to look for it.

Orange Almond Cake

Brle desserts have a few cakes that involve white chocolate, but the marzipan orange almond cake, with its creamy white chocolate ganache filling and Grand Marnier buttercream frosting, is a clear favourite.

Orange & White Chocolate Crme Brle Tart

The Purple Pastry Chef, a mobile cupcake and sweets van, serves a variety of relevant treats including a lavender white chocolate cupcake and a mango cream white chocolate tart. The most interesting flavour pairing, though, is the orange and white chocolate crme brle tart, which comes in personal or larger sizes for splitting (theoretically).

White Chocolate Brownie

This perennial favourite from Moxie’s Bar and Grill features a golden brownie topped with French vanilla ice cream and whipped cream, all liberally drizzled with warm chocolate sauce.

White Chocolate Chai Tea Latte

Higher Ground cafe serves a number of great cold-weather drinks, but nothing pairs as well with watching the snow fall from this Kensington hotspot’s windows as well as this sweet, creamy, spicy creation.

Eggnog Tea

This rooibos tea oozes holiday spirit. With tiny white chocolate chips and meringues in the mix, it’s an alternative to eggnog you’ll want to stock up on.

White Chocolate Bread Pudding

Bazille, Nordstrom’s in-store restaurant, doubles-down on its chocolate offering here, with shavings of white chocolate on top and a melted layer inside this French bread dessert.
