Who doesn’t love sandwiches- especially warm ones with toasted bread and melty cheese

Nothing like a tasty spin on a classic. Try The Block’s tuna melt over the lunch hour this week.

When it’s this cold out, a hot sandwich can be next to godliness. Here are seven to try for lunch this week.

The Block Tuna Melt

Definitely a step up from your standard canned tuna. This dish is made with albacore tuna and a fresh-tasting fennel slaw to help cut the richness of the gooey cheese melted on top.

Cassis Bistro Croque Madame

Bechamel, ham and egg is always a winning combination for your taste buds whether you’re popping by this popular French bistro for brunch or lunch.

Charcut Roasted Garlic Meatball Sandwich

House-made meatballs are topped with cheese curds and gravy in a sandwich that will likely appease even the biggest appetites. Make sure to cover that dress shirt with a napkin. This could get messy!

The Coup Grilled Treehouse Sandwich

Try something a little out of the ordinary for lunch with this sandwich, filled with coconut “bacon,” lettuce, cheddar, tomato, red onion and a basil pesto on rye bread.

Libertine Blueberry Grilled Cheese

Sweet-meets-savoury in a beautiful, beautiful way with a combination of brie, provolone, Swiss, Irish porter cheddar, double-smoked bacon and a spicy sriracha blueberry jam. It’s all in-between fresh sourdough bread that’s grilled to gooey, cheesy perfection.

Monki Bistro Bacon, Tomato and Cucumber Panini

More or less a spin on a BLT, this panini comes loaded with bacon, tomato, avocado, cucumber and three kinds of cheese. It’s hard to not order a brunch dish while you’re here (because they’re so good), but trust me, you won’t be disappointed.

Sabroso Pulled Pork Arepa

Tender pulled pork is placed into a corn flour-based bread and topped with a bright chimichurri and shaved jicama for a nice crunch.
