8 Restaurants That Offer Takeout

For those times when you want to eat in the comfort of your own home, but want the meal to be restaurant quality.

Restaurant food is often just not built for takeout. Somewhere between packaging it into Styrofoam containers and driving it to your living room, the food falls apart and fails to live up to the experience of eating it in the restaurant. Unless you are intentional about your takeout. These restaurants are all places you would typically choose to dine-in at, but they all offer food for takeout or pick up. And, they are careful about what they let you take away and how you take it away.

Once you get home, dig into your restaurant quality food and revel in a dress code of jammies.

Barcelona Tavern

If you want Mediterranean-inspired bar food without going to the bar, Barcelona Tavern takes takeout orders over the phone. It has meat pies on the menu along with steak, sandwiches and tapas. Throw in some churros just to finish off the meal.

Double Zero

Order online in advance (maybe while you are shopping in Chinook Centre) to pick up orders from Double Zero. It has plenty of pizzas, of course, but if you are going for a restaurant-worthy meal at home, add some meatballs, roasted cauliflower, shaved brussel sprouts and maybe a leg of lamb to your order.

Gaucho

For takeout, you start with a basic plate that includes one barbecue item with sides and salads for $12 and build from there with each additional barbecue item costing $4. If you are feeding a crowd, opt for the party platters that come with top sirloin, pork loin, chicken wings and sausage and start at $85 for five people.

At The Nash, there is a lunch takeout menu that includes a few starters (scallops, salads) and mains that include a reuben and chips, the monthly burger creation and a quarter chicken. Chicken also features prominently on the dinner takout menu. You can get a wood roasted whole chicken along with fries, veggies and jus to feed your family.
