ClickDishes app launches in Calgary

Ordering food in Calgary just got a little easier with the launch of the free ClickDishes app in January. Founded by the team behind the Nomme app, ClickDishes offers services like letting you order take-out in advance so that it's ready when you arrive at the restaurant and letting you order and pay using the app when dining in. The app can currently be used at select eateries like Carl's Jr., Opa and Koryo. You can request an access code to try the app at try.clickdishes.com.

Double Zero introduces a new After Dark special at its downtown location

Double Zero is the new place to be on Saturday nights. This past weekend, the restaurant began offering its new After Dark special, which will be offered on Saturday nights at its downtown location. Starting at 9 p.m., you can spend the night enjoying $5 glasses of prosecco and plenty of great music.

Las Canarias opens in Lower Mount Royal

Las Canarias closed the doors to its Royal Oak restaurant at the end of 2016. But thankfully, it recently re-opened in the space formerly occupied by La Vida Loca in Lower Mount Royal. The large menu, which features a range of Spanish cuisine, offers several seafood appetizers, flatbreads, paellas and tapas dishes featuring bravas potatos, coconut shrimp, chorizo pate and more.

Native Tongues Taqueria is offering a new brunch menu

It may be best known for its tasty tacos, but Native Tongues Taqueria is also a great brunch destination. The Beltline restaurant launched its new brunch menu at the end of January, and it features several must-try dishes. New additions to the menu include pollo frito (featuring fried chicken and doughnuts with chorizo gravy and avocado), baked enchiladas (with scrambled eggs, tortillas, enchilada sauce, queso and crema) and huevos divorciados (with tostadas, fried eggs, avocado, salsa verde and roja and queso).

The Lake House has a new prix fixe menu on weeknights

Make plans to dine at The Lake House to try its new $45 prix fixe menu while enjoying the beautiful view of Lake Bonavista. The prix fixe menu features three locally-inspired courses, and is offered starting at 5 p.m. from Monday to Thursday. The menu is available in limited quantities, so make sure you don't miss out.
