This Month, We're Excited to Eat Chicken and Waffles, Cheese Buns and a Big Mac Hot Dog
Here are five things we can't wait to try this June.
We're working on our summer bods with a loaded hot dog, cheese buns and sky-high soft serve this month.
The Big Cheese Poutinerie's June feature item (at both locations) is The Mac Dog. It's inspired by a Big Mac and it's a hot dog topped with ground beef, Thousand Island dressing, tomatoes, pickles and white onions. If you're really hungry, pair it with a classic poutine. This may just be the ultimate hangover spot.

On Fridays, Buttermilk Fine Waffles now serves chicken and waffles from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. or until they run out. Buttermilk's food handling permit prohibits "grease-laden cooking," so chef Roy Oh from neighbouring restaurant Anju came to the rescue. He makes the fried chicken and spicy Korean dipping sauce and Buttermilk makes the waffles. There are also buckets of four Pabst Blue Ribbon tall cans for $20.

You can now buy Glamorgan Bakery's popular cheese buns frozen and bake them at home. This may be the best thing that ever happened to our city.

This new ice cream shop recently opened in Crescent Heights and the Want S'mores cone is looking mighty delicious. It's chocolate and vanilla twist soft serve topped with graham cracker crumbs, Golden Grahams cereal, chocolate sauce, chocolate chips and a toasted marshmallow.

Here's a new way to get your caffeine fix. Zcrew Cafe's On The Rocks is a frozen cube of Esdrippo served with milk on the side. Esdrippo is a cold brew made by melting ice over ground coffee beans in a slow drip coffee maker that releases only one drop every 12 seconds. Pour the milk over the cube and voila, you've got a cold latte.
