6 Ways to Enjoy Squash this Fall

Technically a fruit, squash can go either way when it comes to sweet or savoury. Either way, it’s delicious in these seasonal dishes.

Sweet or savoury, it doesn’t matter how you season it, squash is the vegetable of autumn in Alberta.

From hummus to pie and other tasty dishes in-between, here are 6 different ways to enjoy squash around Calgary.

Avatara Pizza Roasted Squash Hummus

Always a great go-to for some tasty (and 100 per cent gluten-free) pizza, Avatara also serves up a relatively healthy side dish by way of roasted squash hummus and crispy falafel chips. If there are any leftovers, it makes for a great afternoon snack the next day, too.

If you haven’t tried The Pie Hole yet, you are seriously missing out – most notably (and seasonally) on its big, beautiful pumpkin pie topped with a cranberry and pumpkin seed crumble.
