Fiasco Gelato's Calgary Zoo-Inspired Treats

It’s been a difficult summer for the Calgary Zoo. It was under water after the June floods and is now looking at a $50 million repair price tag.

Fiasco Gelato has teamed up with the Calgary Zoo to contribute to the post-flood repairs. It has created two new limited edition “zoo-themed” flavours: Bananimal Cracker Gelato and High Water Hippo Sorbetto.

Bananimal Cracker has animal crackers folded into banana, cinnamon and honey ice cream. High Water Hippo is a dairy-free and vegan option, made with wild BC blueberries.

Each time a scoop of one of these two flavours or a “2 By 2: Rebuild the Zoo” pint pack is purchased, $2 will be donated to the Calgary Zoo

The limited edition “2 By 2: Rebuild the Zoo” gelato will be available in all Calgary Co-op stores, Fiasco’s Pop-Up Gelateria at Bridgeland Market (1104 1 Ave. N.E.), the Fiasco Test Kitchen (A20 416 Meridian Rd. S.E.) and a select number of restaurants in the city starting September 13.

The public can get their first taste of “2 By 2: Rebuild the Zoo” flavours at the Calgary Zoo on September 14 and 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
