National Beer Hall Opens Second Location on 10th Avenue

There is an art to the beer hall. Bringing together the perfect mix of good taps, delicious food, professional service and entertaining distractions, National Beer Hall has got the right formula.

National, owned by the Concorde Group, opened its first location on 17th Avenue last summer and it has been packed ever since. With its wide-ranging selection of North American craft beers and popular Buck-a-Shuck oyster night on Tuesdays, National caters to both the beer-swilling and foodie crowds. The new location promises all this and more.

Although it won't be ready until sometime later this year — it's a complicated process involving parts being imported from Toronto and Vermont — the bowling alley promises to be a great place to spend a Saturday night. It will have eight lanes of 10-pin bowling.

The Bourbon Room will open in the next few weeks and offer at least 40 different kinds of whiskey, including some that aren't available anywhere else in Calgary. The room, which will have semi-private access, will also feature menu items that won't be available on the standard bar menu.

The National menu will also get an overhaul from the original, offering lighter, healthier fare such as salads.
