A great selection of musical instruments awaits you at Golden Music.

Where else can you buy gorgeous musical instruments right in the downtown core? Pop into Golden Music, a newer shop to the area, where you will find ice cream coloured Fender guitars (starting at $79) and acoustic stringed instruments of all kinds. They also offer rentals so you can try out the whole garage band thing before you commit whole-heartedly.

The New Gallery

This artist-run gallery will make you think you’re in New York City – but, rest assured, you’re in Calgary’s vibrant Chinatown.

One of Calgary’s only artist-run galleries has set up shop amongst the herbal remedy shops and dim sum restaurants. The New Gallery’s hip location is a great spot to visit pre or post lunch in Chinatown. While you can’t actually buy any of the art on display, you can however purchase TNG publications and become a member of the gallery by donating an annual fee ($10 to $500) which offers you plenty of sweet discounts around town.
