If you’ve taken a walk through Inglewood lately, it feels like there’s a new restaurant or store to check out practically every week. Here are some of the latest spots that have opened in the neighbourhood, plus a few more we’re looking forward to seeing soon.
Newly Open
Bricks Wine Company
Open since mid-April, this new wine store is one of the first stores you see when you enter Inglewood from the west. Bricks Wine Company is a full-service store filled with wines, beers and spirits from around the world. But the coolest part is the different sections that suggest the best kind of alcohol to go with items like poultry, vegetables, fish, beef and take-out food. Finding a drink pairing to go with dinner has never been easier.

The Eatery by CAPINA’S
The Eatery by CAPINA’S is the latest offering from the owners of Aglio e Olio and Capone’s Strada Cucina food trucks. The small Italian restaurant has set up shop next to Knifewear, and offers pasta, poutine, fries, sandwiches, burgers, salads and more. A brick wall, wooden bar and large pendant lamps make for a cozy space to sit and eat some great Italian food.

Guildhall
Beautify your home with some of the modern furniture, home decor and home accessory products from Guildhall. Open since late March, the 1,500-square-foot store offers a mixture of products from well-known design brands like Umbra Shift and By Lassen and emerging designers and studios. Look for everything from couches and chairs to a great pegboard full of handmade German cleaning brushes.

Gummi Boutique
Bringing a much needed sugar rush to the neighbourhood, Gummi Boutique opened its third store in Inglewood at the beginning of May. Coming in at around 650 square feet, it’s the smallest store of the bunch, but it’s no less full of wacky and wonderful candy. Stock up on bulk candy, five-pound gummy bears and an impressive selection of imported soda.

Plant
In April, this popular plant and terrarium shop moved a few doors down and re-opened in the space formerly occupied by DaDe Art & Design Lab. At more than 3,000 square feet, this space is triple the size of Plant’s previous store, and carries more varieties of plants, larger plants and way more succulents. The store has also expanded some of its product lines, adding more pots and household items like blankets, pillows, cards and art prints.

Rhosyn
If you’re looking for Rhosyn, just head to the big red barn that’s home to The Livery Shop. Located inside of the popular clothing, jewellery and home goods store, Rhosyn offers fresh flower arrangements and gift boxes that mix florals with locally-made products. You can order online or at the store, but the small, cute shop is worth a visit to customize your box contents in person.

Rosso Coffee Roasters
Those looking for another spot to get their morning caffeine fix were happy to see Rosso Coffee Roasters open. This is the fourth coffee shop location for the local roasting company, and the beautiful space has table, bar and couch seating areas. Don’t forget to add one of the delicious chocolate chip cookies or housemade oreos to your coffee order.

Cody & Sioux
This modern western store is set to open its doors in the space formerly occupied by Junktiques in June. Cody & Sioux will carry men’s and women’s apparel and cowboy boots, furniture and home accessories, all in a modern, Western style that features plenty of silver, leather and turquoise elements. Be sure to check it out whether you’re looking for a new Stampede outfit or just love Western culture.

Deane House Restaurant
In July, the historic Deane House will re-open as a full-service restaurant with a 90-seat outdoor patio, an event space and a completely changed interior with room for another 90 seats. Run by the team behind River Caf, the restaurant will be open for lunch, dinner, weekend brunch and afternoon high tea. The menu will feature Canadian cuisine with an emphasis on regional ingredients.

Madison’s 12|12
A 75-seat craft nacho and salad restaurant is set to open this summer in the space formerly filled by EZ-Robot. When it opens, look for take out and dine-in breakfast options like huevos rancheros and breakfast burritos, as well as 12 different nacho and 12 different salad options. Wash them all down with Bulletproof coffee, cold pressed juices, coffee, beer or a cocktail. The best part of all? You’ll be able to enjoy them on a 49-seat patio.

Purr
Taking over the space formerly occupied by Modern Country Interiors, locally owned clothing store Purr is set to open its third location in Inglewood this summer. The 3,500 square foot shop will be the first of its stores to carry men’s, women’s and children’s apparel and accessories all in one space. They will also sell houseware items.
