Marta Filipski moved from Ontario to Alberta with the intention of meeting a cowboy. Three years later, she married Tim Charles in a barn decorated with hay bales and with brisket and pies on the celebratory menu.
Aman Dhillon had to literally beg for Sumita Kaushal’s hand in marriage. On July 29, 2011, Aman rode on horseback to the Dashmesh Culture Centre, where all of Sumita’s family were waiting for him. In front of 300 people, the couple walked around the Guru Granth Sahib (the Sikh religious book) for the traditional ceremony.
There aren’t too many occasions when you can plan an epic party for 300 of your closest friends and family and also customize it to fit your personality and culture. When Shauna Klepak and Joel May got the chance to do just that for their wedding day, they didn’t hold back.
Four married couples look back at their wedding day and remember the party-planning decisions they are most glad they made.
