Calgary's Best Neighbourhoods

Where are the best places to live in Calgary? To find out we turned to the smartest people we know — you, our readers.

Working with Leger Marketing, we undertook a city-wide survey that asked Calgarians what matters most when setting up roots in a community.

Does it have to be pedestrian-friendly, close to parks, schools, coffee shops and shopping?

Or is there an entirely different set of factors at play?

Next, we asked Calgarians to give their own neighbourhoods a grade for each of these criteria and to go the extra mile we added in data from the city including the locations of parks, recreation and other amenities, as well as crime stats and tax values. Then, we handed the information off to Leger Marketing to analyze.

Leger Marketing scoured through the data, weighed every factor and ranked each community according to the preferences of Calgarians.

Based on all of that, here are Calgary’s top 15 communities

1. Elboya

2. West Hillhurst

3. Rosedale
