Crescent Heights makes room for everyone.

“It’s a very diverse community with some of the city’s most expensive homes alongside some of the city’s most modest homes,” says John McDermid, president of the Crescent Heights Community Association.

Two thirds of the homes in Crescent Height are apartments; the rest are mostly a combination of early 20th-century bungalows and modern infills. The variety of real estate leads to an economically diverse population that includes those who can afford the million-dollar homes on the southernmost boundary of the community overlooking the Bow River and downtown skyline, as well as others who take advantage of rent prices that on average are $100/month cheaper than the rest of the city.

Some of the city’s busiest pedestrian paths also lead to Crescent Heights. Thousands walk across the Centre Street Bridge into downtown each day and the staircase leading from Memorial Drive to Crescent Road and 2nd Street N.W. is a magnet for exercise enthusiasts looking to conquer the 167 steps and enjoy the view of the downtown.

Once you get to the top, Edmonton Trail is also only stumbling distance away. The busy street is a hot spot with residents who like to peruse the fine selection of restaurants, including Diner Deluxe, Over Easy and AKA Winebar.
