Ryerson-trained Laura George worked as a costume designer and seamstress on stages in Lethbridge and Toronto before parlaying her skill for dramatic fabric manipulation into her debut bridal collection. George’s gowns cover the wedding spectrum from short, destination-appropriate, cocktail-styles to billowing ball gowns, available off-the-rack and custom-made. She incorporates subtle historical references by using modern applications of ultra-feminine details including lace, draping and ruffles. Her most recent collection includes three-dimensional flowers inspired by traditional Hungarian embroidery.
