Devon’s emphasis on investing in its employees also comes across in its online training centre, which provides staff with internal resources or courses, not just for job skills and upgrading, but also for leadership training.

Despite being a relatively large operation, there is a close-knit, small-company vibe at Devon. Devon promotes a culture of volunteerism by giving staff time off to volunteer, matching donation dollars and even giving cash prizes through draws to charities its employees volunteer for.

The camaraderie is genuine among co-workers and it’s not uncommon that informal get-togethers take place outside of the office ranging from hockey games to “craftynoons.” The social club also arranges discount tickets to theatres and shows.
