How to Eat Gluten-Free in Calgary
Where to purchase gluten-free baking and gluten-free food products, plus how to preserve flavour and nutrients when eating gluten-free.

There are few parties that exemplify the city’s energy, spirit and cheekiness better than the Big Rock Eddies, held June 2 at the Epcor Centre for the Performing Arts. The 15th annual edition of the awards certainly lived up to past glories. Once again, Big Rock founder Ed McNally distributed his “Mini-Me” statuettes and cash prizes to the creators of the best print ads and commercials for Big Rock beer.
The party itself started with a VIP mixer in the Martha Cohen Theatre before rolling on to the Eddies Red Carpet outside the Jack Singer Concert Hall for some well-placed tongue-in-cheek glamour. Dashing lounge lizard Anthony Curtola hosted the evening’s off-the-wall show for a rambunctious audience, stacked to the rafters and showing enthusiasm obviously created by a little pre-show product sampling.
After the awards, it was time to sweep into the lobby for more beer, great food from Calgary restaurants and dancing into the night. Proceeds from the event went to support the Epcor Centre for the Performing Arts, One Yellow Rabbit Theatre Group and the Calgary’s Women’s Emergency Centre.
