Pierre Lamielle's Kitchen Scraps: A Humorous Illustrated Cookbook

Delicious Design

Pierre Lamielle’s Kitchen Scraps: A Humorous Illustrated Cookbook doesn’t claim to make you a culinary whiz, nor does it tell you how to whip up meals for busy families or eat healthier. Instead, it promises to “delight, offend and make you hungry.” The recipes are grouped by foods you eat with a fork, a spoon, a “forkenknife” and your hand. The recipes for dishes include “The Blessed Eggs of St. Benedictus,” “Aphrodite’s Hot Greek Goddess Salad” and “Beet Carpaccio.” The 208-page cookbook is definitely something you’ll want to read, even outside the kitchen.

Lamielle attended the French Culinary Institute in New York City. He is currently the columnist of an illustrated food column at Swerve and also teaches at the Cookbook Co. Cooks. Follow his blog at kitchenscraps.ca.
