Pigeons are usually a nuisance in the downtown, but lately these scavengers have been a welcome sight — in illustrated form, that is.

The bird is cropping up as a symbol of savings for Calgarians with the Pigeon Card, a free discount card that gives you special offers and deals at restaurants, retailers and shows within the 14-block area of downtown known as the Cultural District. Pick one up at Art Central, Fashion Central or other locations downtown. Once you register your card online, you’ll be e-mailed monthly with up-to-date deals.
