It’s a bakery, a coffee shop, a fine breakfast-lunch-and-early dinner cafe and a great community meeting spot.

Every Calgarian has had their fair share of dry skin days and has likely tried every product under the sun to combat this irritating aspect of living in such a climate. Thankfully there are no shortage of products to try. One of the newest ones on the block is Fruits & Passion Nourishing Dry Oil for body and hair ($14). Promised to replenish the skin and go on smoothly and easily to nourish, soothe and soften, this light spray certainly goes on easily. A few quick spritzs and a quick rub to spread it around on the legs is all you need. The silky film left behind does penetrate...
While I'm sure everyone is enjoying their summer despite the weather, there are probably a few people out there anxiously waiting for fall to arrive when the November issue reveals 2010's Top 40 Under 40. I can't give you any hints but I can explain the process a little bit more and why it takes Avenue months to compile our annual list of Calgary's movers and shakers. Tonight's 18+ eclectic line up includes Doer & the Doddler, Nathan M. Godfrey and a secret headliner. Tomorrow's 18+ indie line up includes Friendo, Savk, Very Really So and...
It goes with out saying that if you plan a party outside in Calgary it will rain. It doesn't matter which month, the weather will try it's best to work against you. Consider it a fluke if you have gorgeous weather. And count your blessings. Unfortunately for the Earl's Restaurants around the city, pouring rain and gusting winds canceled all of the patio parties except Earl's Tin Palace and Bankers' Hall. However, as Calgarians are quite used to the volatile weather the party continued on inside complete with the sounds of a warmer continent coming from the nimble fingers of Los...
