Two years in a Row
It's been a hell of a week. I would like to share with you Normal, Best Film 2010, FilmRacing International Calgary Selection. (Warning, possibly NSFW: Sexual suggestive language). Travis, Rachel and I met up at District at around eight pm Friday night to enjoy a bucket of bacon, Black Pilsners, and our last hours of peace before the race started. We did what paper work we could and sent text messages to possible help to make sure we had support.
Wordfest Announces 15th Anniversary Festival Line-up
When it's the farewell year for Anne Green (the festival's first and only director) and the 15th anniversary, you tend to go balls-out to develop an impressive program. While the festival has already proven itself one of the best literary events in the world, this year there is an overall feeling of celebration for Green who has worked hard to ensure the 15-year-old festival will carry-on without her with Jo Steffens stepping in as festival director for next year.
Eco-Fashion Trends
Organic cotton, bamboo, soy, hemp, sustainable style--words that are quickly becoming the normal lingo among fashion industry experts and designers around the world. My own personal victory during my time away was that I left both my Blackberry and my laptop at home. And not once did I check my voice mail from afar. This was the first time since we started the company nearly 15 years ago, that I'd been that disconnected from the office. And it felt good.

Barb Higgins: Future Mayor of Calgary or Professional Dancer?
Today Calgary is abuzz with news that Barb Higgins, who just last week announced that she was leaving her post as an anchor woman with CTV Calgary, will be making a big announcement about her future plans. And while most Calgary media outlets are speculating that Higgins will become the latest, and first female, candidate vying to become Calgary's next mayor we'd like to go out on a limb with our tongues firmly in our cheeks and predict that Higgins will announce that she is becoming a professional dancer. A Tango dancer to be more specific.

Saturday Morning at the Calgary Folk Music Festival
Saturday at the Calgary Folk Music Festival had the sun shining bright and lawn chair-toting festival-goers in place right from the first performances at 10:30 a.m. Stage 2 had a nice double bill with Honeybear and Jordan Klassen showing off two talented young local performers. Honeybear
