Five Top 40 Under 40 Alumni Running in 2010 Municipal Election
For 12 years, the annual Top 40 Under 40 list has tried to give Calgarians a good idea of which young citizens in their community are working toward making the City a stronger, more creative, and ultimately - a better place to live. And with the now hundreds of inspiring people on the Top 40 alumni list, having at least five of these individuals announcing their intentions to run in the 2010 Calgary municipal election should not come as a big surprise. Top 40 Under 40 Update
While I'm sure everyone is enjoying their summer despite the weather, there are probably a few people out there anxiously waiting for fall to arrive when the November issue reveals 2010's Top 40 Under 40. I can't give you any hints but I can explain the process a little bit more and why it takes Avenue months to compile our annual list of Calgary's movers and shakers.
Meet the 2010 Top 40 Under 40 Judges
Avenue's annual Top 40 Under 40 issue is quickly becoming a small industrial complex. Hundreds of submissions are carefully reviewed, re-reviewed and eventually whittled down into a yearly list of Calgary's premiere young citizens. With such a daunting task laying siege upon the majority of our staff for the better part of two calendar seasons, it is important (mostly to our fatigued minds) that the panel of judges selecting the final Top 40 Under 40 list get things right.
A Top 40 2010 Update
Nominations for the 2010 Avenue Top 40 Under 40 opened April 1 (view the nomination form) and we've already received close to 100 nominations for this year's class with many more coming in daily.

Top 40 Under 40 2010: It's coming
Nominations for the 2010 edition of the Avenue Calgary Top 40 Under 40 will open in April. Judging will take place in June with the prestigious list once again announced with the launch of the November 2010 issue.
