Question: did the colour Emerald Green change your life in any significant way in 2013? Well it should have. It was the colour of the year, as deemed by the authority on colour, Pantone. Since 2000, Pantone has announced the colour it predicts will leave an indelible mark on the worlds of home decor, fashion design, floral design and cosmetics. Past recipients include Turquoise (2010), Tiger Lily (2004) and the colour that started it all, Cerulean (2000).

This year, Pantone has chosen Radiant Orchid as its trendsetting hue. With hints of pink and fuchsia, Radiant Orchid is a romantic purple. Expect to see it everywhere, from Pantone cross collaborations, to paint palettes, to the runway. Here are five of our favourite Radiant Orchid-inspired products to add a hint of vibrancy to your world.
