NOtaBLE Heart for Healing Dinner
NOtaBLE Restaurant Works sets aside one of its busiest nights to host an evening of dining for a great cause.

Teams of two hopped into King Hippo-size ginch and ran down an obstacle course on Stephen Avenue to launch the Alberta Cancer Foundation's Underwear Affair this afternoon. The course, set up between 1st and 2nd St. SW, had teams running out of the gate, circling pylons, skipping rope, doing their best cheerleader impressions - complete with pom-pom waving, and hauling back to the finish line, all the while attached by a giant set of tighty-whites.

The 4th Annual Underwear Affair takes place June 5, 2010 and features a 5K walk and a 10K run that winds through the streets of Calgary. Participants compete in the race stripped down to their skivvies in an effort to raise funds and awareness "for cancers below the waist such as cervical, ovarian, prostate, colorectal, and endometrial."
Mark's Work Wearhouse sponsored the giant underwear event today, and offered a $200 gift certificate to the fastest team. In the true spirit of the event, the winners of the race donated the $200 back to the Alberta Cancer Foundation, which supports "the Tom Baker Cancer Centre in Calgary, the Cross Centre Institute in Edmonton and 15 other cancer centres throughout Alberta."
