Nominations for the 2010 Avenue Top 40 Under 40 opened April 1 (view the nomination form) and we've already received close to 100 nominations for this year's class with many more coming in daily.
We did make a few changes to the nomination process for 2010, the biggest being that if you nominate someone they receive an e-mail letting them know they have been nominated (it doesn't tell them by who) and asks them to provide the information we require for a complete nomination.
Why did we do this?
We found that in previous years the amount of information given in the nominations varied widely. We routinely had to ask the nominee's for more information as part of the selection process. This year we thought we would get all the information we need directly from the nominees before the selection process begins so we can concentrate on choosing the top 40 rather that locating any missing information.
