Picnic This Saturday Will Celebrate 20 Years of Habitat for Humanity Calgary

Since 1990, Habitat for Humanity Calgary has helped "more than 100 local families" construct affordable homes. The important charitable group was established as a branch of Habitat Canada in an effort to help families in need of housing and has stuck to the philosophy that these Calgarians need "a hand-up, not a hand-out." But Habitat Calgary will be giving out a free picnic and a performance by The Turbines to anyone interested this Saturday from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm.

The celebration will take place at Bowness Park (8900 - 48 Ave. NW, West End Picnic Site 5) and anyone wishing to attend needs to RSVP by calling (403) 253-9931 ext. 225 or email communications@habitatcalgary.ca. This will be a great opportunity for Calgarians that want to learn more about Habitat for Humanity's work in Calgary as well as a chance to become more involved with the local groups on the frontlines of the affordable housing crisis in their communities.
