Patisserie du Soleil
It’s a bakery, a coffee shop, a fine breakfast-lunch-and-early dinner cafe and a great community meeting spot.

Blue Team Basement.
This week our two teams were challenged with completing most of the basement space within 30 hours. (I say most because the laundry rooms are yet to come!)
Each team had to put in the flooring, paint and finish the space as well as set up all the furniture.
This is the first time so far where we've seen the two different layouts present different challenges for the teams. The Blue Team had one very open space and a full bathroom, while the Yellow Team had a smaller living room space as well as a children's playroom and a full bathroom.
The shape of the living space in the Yellow Team basement presented some unique concerns. While the space seemed too large for just one seating area, a second row of seating behind the couch but still oriented toward the TV created a space that would be unlikely to be used. More is not necessarily better.
The Blue Team faced a similar problem, but by creating a built-in storage bench that doubled as seating they seemed to address the challenge a bit better.
The bright and cheerful children's play area in the Yellow Team home is a space that is likely to see a lot of wear and tear and a glass-topped table might have been a poor choice here. However, versatile seating that can be easily moved anywhere in the home was a great selection.
Both spaces continued looks used elsewhere in the home, making both spaces integrated and stylish.
Overall, great work by both teams — it was definitely a tough week to pick a winner. Fortunately, it's up to the viewers to decide who wins their home mortgage free. You can vote online here (in fact, you can vote every day — each vote gets you entered to win a Ford Flex).
