Calgary's Julie Van Rosendaal, food writer, author, stylist, journalist, contributor to an online cooking series (Good Bite) and co-host of a TV cooking show (It’s Just Food), is using her influence in the food world to do a good deed. She has combining forces with twenty-seven of Canada’s top food gurus to help out Haiti.

The fruit of their labour is a new cookbook entitled “Blog Aid - Recipes for Haiti”, with all proceeds (soft cover $25 or hard cover $50) going straight to Haitian relief, courtesy of the Red Cross and Doctors without Borders. It offers readers the opportunity to create some delicious dishes and help out the people of the embattled island nation.

NOTE: According to Van Rosendaal's twitter feed @dinnerwithjulie at 2:30 p.m. they had already sold 324 books and with matching funds from the Canadian government have raised more than $15,000 for relief in Haiti.
