Tiffin For You Brings Mumbai's Flavours to Your Desk

GreatEvents Group has just added a compact, economical and exotic option to Calgarians' lunch and breakfest menus. Tiffin boxes are now available to hungry offices, construction crews and any other group of 10 or more (the minimum needed for free delivery) whom wish to partake in this trendy and delicious East Indian tradition. Tiffins, which started in colonial British India are stainless steel containers packed by the wives and mothers of city workers in places like Mumbai, and then are delivered by "dabbawalas" - using a complex transit system - to thousands of workers and school children.

In the U.K. and other European nations with large Southeast Asian emigrant populations, groups of office workers often schedule routine deliveries of tiffins on a weekly, or sometimes, daily basis. President of GreatEvents Group, Ulrich Kuenz says that his company "Is very excited to bring this unique, traditional and environmentally friendly concept to the Calgary market." The re-usable containers come complete with "eco-friendly bamboo utensils, napkins and condiments." When your group has finished with the tiffins, you simply place the containers in the delivery box and it is picked up the next business day.

Each tiffin comes loaded with a "hot entree, a side and a dessert" and in addition to classic Indian dishes like butter chicken and Madras lamb curry, customers can also get Western favourites like Irish stew and lobster mac n' cheese. The tiffins are very reasonable in price, ranging from $11 to $15.
