At last year’s Home and Garden show, Terry Metatawabin, a First Nation Eastern Cree man who specializes in First Nation project development, stumbled upon the Karoleena Homes display of durable, modular homes. He immediately saw the potential for this innovative business to improve housing conditions for First Nations peoples.

In 2007, Chris Turner released The Geography of Hope: A Tour of the World We Need, a national bestselling book about green technologies and policies around the world. In 2009, he was one of the people who founded CivicCamp, a community building workshop. These two achievements led to Turner becoming a Top 40 Under 40 in 2009.

Jim Button is a marketing dynamo who over his 14 year career in Calgary has worked with such big name clients as Molson Brewery, Big Rock Brewery and Tourism Calgary. We inducted Button into the Top 40 Under 40 in 1999 and he has been on the judge’s panel numerous times since, helping us to select several Top 40 Under 40 classes.
