KK-REV CD Release Party

KK-REV, a local hard rock band with a hint of blues and soul, releases their first CD with a party at Dickens Pub. The line-up features an acoustic session with drummer Brian Hardie and local comedian Jimmy Souza followed by the rock and roll sounds of KK-REV.

This dark comedy by local playwright Pam Rocker turns sexuality on its head and creates a world where gay is the norm and straight people threaten the sanctity of marriage. Presented by Beyond Closed Doors.
Calgary Microcredit Conference
Where: Danish Canadian Club of Calgary (727 11th Ave. SW)
This one day event aims to help Calgarians work towards a sustainable and poverty free world. Beginning with a drum circle, this conference features an array of representatives from agencies to individuals dedicated to helping the world's impoverished. Matt Flattery, co-founder and CEO of Kiva, is one of the featured speakers.
Haultain and First Street Festival

Join the Victoria Park BRZ for the second annual Haultin and First Street Festival, a community-based event held in the heart of Victoria Park. This free all-day event featuring live entertainment, buskers, local foods, exhibits, vendors and kids' activities.
The Kidney March
Where: Kananaskis Country
This three day, 100 km walk from Kananaskis Country to Calgary will help to raise funds for The Kidney Foundation of Canada. Walkers have everything taken care of including meals, showers, snacks, and even a tent. All they need to do is walk and raise $2,200 to help fight kidney disease.
Comeback Kid: Through the Noise Tour

Hardcore legends Comeback Kid have announced their new album /Symptoms + Cures/ will be released August 31 through Distort Records. Following the release the band will embark on a month long Canadian tour with A Wilhelm Scream and Madball.
Slow Food Calgary’s 9th Annual Feast of Fields

This celebration of Alberta’s harvest features 20 of Calgary’s best chefs in partnership with 50 local food producers. Rouge Restaurant plays host in their historic garden and smooth jazz music sets the mood.

Cirque du Soleil: KOOZA

Calgary runners will take to the pathways of the Bow River this fall in support of the Foundation Fighting Blindness (FFB) and its pursuit of treatments and cures for inherited, degenerative forms of blindness.
Alberta Art Days

Fort Calgary celebrates the art and artifacts of Alberta during this day-long event which features a print exhibition by Dora Helen Mackie and many other pieces from Fort Calgary's collection. Artifacts related to art and art production will be on display and demonstrations will happen throughout the day.
Fashionable U Fundraising Fashion Show
Where: MacEwan Conference & Event Centre (2500 University Dr. N.W.)
Fashionable Uniforms and Accessories joined forces with Fierce and Fabulous to host the first ever "Fashionable U" fundraiser in support of the Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation Cancer Initiative. A wine and cheese reception will be followed by a silent auction, 50/50 draw and a fashion show featuring both medical and corporate work wear.
