New Releases for December 15, 2009
Posted by Tyler C. Hellard in Amusing Myself To Death on Dec 15 2009 14:05
This blog is once again going weekly, though it’s a rough time of year for it since nothing good ever comes out in December. Except, of course, the following.
THIS WEEK'S PICK
Inglourious Basterds
Sure it’s bloody and violent and kind of gross and violent. It’s also one of the most entertaining films of 2009, provided you aren’t turned off by things like human scalping and Brad Pitt doing an accent. And, as of today, it’s also a Golden Globe nominee for Best Picture.

MUSIC
Lady Gaga - Fame Monster Collector’s Edition
Why would you pay almost $100 for a Lady Gaga album you likely already own? Well, this numbered and limited collector’s edition comes with a nice art book, a collectable puzzle, some cool photos, a behind-the-scenes look at Lady Gaga, a couple posters and fanzines, a paper doll collection, 3D glasses for stuff that’s not even out yet and personalized notes from the artist. There’s also some new songs in addition to all the songs from her debut album, The Fame. Still not convinced? Well, this special edition also contains A LOCK OF LADY GAGA’S HAIR! I can only assume it’s for home cloning purposes.

MOVIES
The Hangover
This is a legitimately funny movie with Ken Jeong in a supporting role.

The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard
This is a legitimately terrible movie with Ken Jeong in a supporting role.

Taking Woodstock
Roger Ebert liked it. I didn’t. He gets paid more than I do.
DVD | Blu-ray | iTunes
TV
The Tudors: Season 3
I still haven’t watched season two, but as long as it’s still mostly about sex and death, I see no reason why you shouldn’t be watching this show.
DVD | Blu-ray | iTunes
Robot Chicken: Season Four
If your attention span is next to zero and you spend too much time watching TV and movies, this show is for you. And you’ve probably already seen it though. Go outside for a change.
DVD
GAMES
Dragon’s Lair (iPhone)
I’m going to give no details here other than the title. If you know it, you are in full nerdgasm mode right now we could probably be best friends given the right set of circumstances. If you don’t know it, feel free to move along.
