Tips to Enter

Avenue's "The View From Here" monthly photo contest looks to capture all angles and perspectives on life in Calgary.  

Each month, three winning photos will be selected and published in a future issue of Avenue. In addition to having a photo featured in Calgary's premier lifestyle magazine, each selected photographer will receive a one-year subscription to Avenue magazine.

What we want:

-Your original photos taken in and around the Calgary area.
-A variety of angles, styles and subject matter.
-Enter as many photos as you like.
-Photos should be in jpeg format and not exceed 1 MB in size. Each month the winning photographers will be contacted for a high-resolution image for publication.

What we don't want:

-Images that you do not own the copyrights to.  
-Nudity. Don't get us wrong we have nothing against the human form, but let's face it there are thousands of other places online to see or post nude photos of both the artistic and erotic variety.
-Images that have been overly altered via digital means. Slight modifications are just fine but we want to see moments captured in time not your proficiency with editing software.
