Usher in the new season by cleaning your home and donating unwanted items to a local organization. Clothing, electronics, furniture, household items and food can be donated to agencies around the city. Below is a list of who takes what and which organizations will come pick up your stuff.

Clothing and Personal Care Items: Drop-off or pick-up

Drop-In Centre

What you can donate: Clothing, shoes, winter coats, medical supplies, personal care items (toys, furniture and household items also accepted)

Hours: Drop-off 24/7

Clothing and Personal Care Items: Drop-off only

The Mustard Seed

What you can donate: Clothing, personal care items, sheets, blankets, food, etc.

Hours: Sunday to Saturday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Walk-In Closet

6516 1A St. SW, 403-262-5776

What you can donate: Gently used women’s business and business casual clothing – skirts, blazers, dresses, pants, shoes, accessories, etc.

Hours: Tuesday to Thursday and select Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Food: Drop-off or pick-up

Calgary Food Bank

What you can donate: Non-perishable food items, fresh food items (veggies, dairy, etc.) and baby formula/food

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; Friday, 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

For pick-up: Call 403-253-2059 or drop items into Food Bank bins at most grocery stores around the city.

Furniture: Drop-off or pick-up

Calgary Inter-Faith Furniture Society

What you can donate: Furniture, small appliances (TVs, microwaves, lamps, etc.), household goods (kitchen utensils, dishes, pots and pans), baby furniture

Hours: Tuesday to Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

What you can donate: Furniture, small appliances (TVs, microwaves, lamps, etc.), household goods (kitchen utensils, dishes, pots and pans), baby furniture
