Easter Egg Cookie Dough, Bottled Cocktails and Macarons
These are some of the things on our radar to eat and drink this month.
This month, we're all about fresh, springtime cocktails, pretty desserts and St. Patrick's Day libations. Here are five things we're excited to try this month.
Eau Claire Craft Distillery and local brewery Annex Ale Project have collaborated to create Alberta’s first bottled craft cocktail. It’s like a Moscow Mule, but with Annex’s ginger beer and Eau Claire’s Prickly Pear EquineOx (which they describe as “a sweet, barley based alternative to gin or vodka”). Find it at the distillery’s tasting room or at the Calgary Farmers' Market.

Springtime makes us want all the pretty things, including these pastel-coloured macarons from Ollia Macarons & Tea. This shop also happens to host macaron baking classes.

St. Patrick’s Day is on a Saturday this year, so the Irish stout and whiskey will really be flowing. To mark the occasion, Craft Beer Market is offering Ohara’s Irish Stout for $6.50 and $4 shots of Jameson on March 17. There will also be live music.

The Street Eatery launched its vegan wing night in January and herbivores are seriously excited. The wings are made with seitan (wheat gluten) and come in Thai, chili, hot, barbecue and Cajun flavours. This is a wing night we can feel a little less guilty about.
