5 Things We're Excited to Eat This November

Meaty sandwiches, salted caramel cream puffs, lobster rolls and a latte flight are on the list this month.

Dropping temperatures and impending holiday shopping have us needing comforting and caffeinated treats. Plus, there are some new fall menu items around the city that we've yet to devour. Here are five things we're excited to eat in November.

Salted Caramel Cream Puffs at Monogram

Monogram's three locations are now selling these delightful two-bite salted caramel cream puffs on Fridays through Sundays. Made by Calgary's Dim Sum Diet, they're filled with salted caramel pastry cream, topped with a crunchy sugar crust and drizzled with more salted caramel. We suggest picking these up on a Friday as they will most likely go fast.

Hot Chicken Sandwich at Dandy Brewing Company

No, it's not Nashville Hot Chicken. The name of this lunchtime menu item is a bit deceiving, but what arrives at your table is a chicken sandwich smothered in hot chicken gravy and topped with peas. It's like Thanksgiving on a plate and it's exactly what we need on a snowy day.

Braised Short Rib Sandwich at Royale

Okay, we know this is another sandwich, but it's worth including. Head to Royale at lunchtime (starting at 11:30 a.m.) for this warm, meaty creation topped with double-smoked bacon, horseradish aioli and cheese curds.

East Coast Rolls at Elbow Room

Normally, you can get two kinds of Elbow Room's East Coast Rolls for $9. But if you go on a Thursday for lunch or dinner, you can get all three kinds for the same price (or $3 each). The rolls feature lobster with mustard tarragon aioli, prawn with yuzu parsley emulsion and scallop with smoked aioli.

Latte Flight at Société Coffee Lounge

Gear up for holiday shopping with a jolt from a latte flight at this coffee shop in the Beltline. The flight comes with two lattes and two shots of espresso. The cafe just announced a new fruity espresso, the Landscape Coffee Roasters Guatemala Finca Twi’Ha with strong blueberry notes and it pairs well with the Pilot Coffee Roasters Heritage Blend espresso.
