5 Things We're Excited to Eat and Drink This September
A giant Moscow mule, chocolate fondue and peanut butter cinnamon buns are on our radar this month.
We all know Calgary has some crazy weather patterns, and now we're entering the time of year when it could be 25 degrees one day and snowing the next. So, here are some drinks and eats that take advantage of the last bit of patio weather and some that warm us up inside as temperatures start to cool down.
When the clouds roll in, there's no better way to stay toasty than with hot fondue. Monki Bistro offers fondue at brunch every Saturday and Sunday and for dessert during dinner service. The fondue comes with warm Lindt chocolate, fruit, waffle crisps and brioche bites. The chocolate flavours include dark chocolate, green matcha, yellow tumeric, Earl grey, white chocolate, charcoal and pink beet root (only the first four are available during brunch though).

Go big with the Texas Mule cocktail at Cactus Club Cafe's Stephen Avenue location. The giant Moscow mule is served in a huge copper cup and you're legally required to share it with three friends, which, let's be honest, shouldn't be that hard to do. And if it's sunny out, sip it on the patio and do some people watching.

If you haven't tried the drinks on Monogram Coffee's summer menu yet, now is the time to do it before they're gone on September 22. Choose from Peaches and Cream Cold Brew, Cold Brew Palmer (half iced tea and half lemonade), Cinnamon Vanilla Milk Tea or Summer Sparkling Green Tea.

Fall is all about the farmers' markets. Every Saturday in September, you can find Canela at the Farmers and Markers Market at CSpace King Edward selling these drool-worthy cinnamon rolls with peanut butter cream cheese frosting. The cream cheese is vegan and the all-natural peanut butter is from local Nude Food Market. You can also find Canela at the Hillhurst Sunnyside Farmers' Market on September 5 and 12. And if you just can't get enough sweetness, they'll also be selling their new pumpkin-chai cinnamon roll after the long weekend.
On Wednesdays at Posto, you can eat all the carbs on the cheap. For $35 per person, you can get a six-course tasting menu for two people and select bottles of wine are $30. The menu changes weekly but always includes pizza and desserts.
