PARKSHOW 2018 went big and didn't let a little rain delay dampen the celebration.

It's been 10 years since PARK (Promoting Artists Redefining Kulture) was first established in Calgary. There have been markets, luxury fashion shows and events. It has transformed parkades and car dealerships into incredible venues for fashion shows. It's mission is to create a platform for Canadian designers and artisans so their work could be recognized internationally. You can read a retrospective on all that PARK has done here.

On June 24, 2018, it went big by holding PARKSHOW 2018 on the George C. King Bridge, which connects St. Patrick's Island with East Village and RiverWalk Plaza. It was a bold plan and thunderstorms meant the event originally scheduled for Saturday had to be delayed until Sunday. The PARK team and guests rallied to make the Sunday afternoon show a sunny success.

"PARKSHOW 2018 was an incredible endeavour," says Kara Chomistek, president of PARK. "We want to thank our community, East Village, The City of Calgary for coming together and showcasing what Calgarian resilience is all about. Without the understanding and kindness of our volunteers, staff, guests, sponsors, designers and talent we wouldn't have been able to pull together this scale of a show. Thank-you Calgary for coming out and helping to make this an iconic event for not only our city but across Canada."

The event also included a market with more than 40 apparel, jewellery, art and apothecary brands set up for PARKSALE 2018 in RiverWalk Plaza on the East Village side of the bridge.

Chairs were lined up along the sides of the bridge that would be the catwalk for the show.
