The Province of Alberta has asked for the immediate cancellation of events of more than 15 people and all public recreation facilities, private entertainment facilities, bars and nightclubs are closed. For all gatherings, attendees must space themselves at least two metres apart at all times.

Ethnik Festival of Arts and Culture

This free celebration of Black History Month takes place over the course of two days at the Calgary Central Library on February 28 and 29. There will be a wide array of performances from both contemporary and traditional musicians and dancers whose influences span from throughout Africa to the Caribbean and beyond, as well as notable guest speakers such as Miss Jully Black (pictured), Olunike Adeliyi, Hon. Kaycee Madu, Chima Nkemdirim and more. While both days are free to attend, guests are asked to RSVP in advance via Eventbrite.
