Measures of Weather: A Talk & Reading by J.R. Carpenter

The Calgary Distinguished Writers Program is hosting a virtual reading and talk with author J. R. Carpenter, the newest 2020-2021 Writer-in-Residence with the University of Alberta. Carpenter will read from two books, An Ocean of Static and This is a picture of Wind, which are both collections of poems. After the reading, Dr. Larissa Lai, a creative writing professor at UCalgary, will host a talk about Carpenter’s writing process using archival material and found text.
