Persistence of Vision: Antarctica

July 2 - July 12

Free

Experience a combination of science and art on film with Persistence of Vision: Antarctica. Watch as today’s Antarctic scientists and support staff recreate original footage in the same locations as their predecessors, a century after the first photos and film from the continent fascinated audiences. The video installation, created by Patricia A. Suchy and Vince LiCata of Louisiana State University, will be presented by the University of Calgary’s Department of Art during the Performance Studies International’s Calgary conference.

Persistence of Vision: Antarctica will show throughout the day during gallery hours from July 2 – July 12, with a reception on July 5 between 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m.
