The Scarlet Letter
February 26 @ 7:30 pm - March 23 @ 8:00 pm
When Hester Prynne is found guilty of adultery in Boston circa 1641, she is forced to wear a scarlet “A” at all times and is shunned by her community. Academy Award and Emmy nominee Phyllis Nagy’s adaptation of Nathaniel Hawthorne’s timeless work is notable for a modern re-imagining of Hester, who shows defiance in the wake of the shaming in this version. Hawthorne fans and first-time viewers alike can find something to ponder at this show.
