The design

Georgian architecture traces back to 18th-century England, where the style was widely popular. These homes are made of brick and feature symmetrical windows, shutters and columns, and grand entrances. Thanks to the ample windows, the interior of Georgian houses is flooded with light and warmth. Most decor tends to feature matching themes. One memorable example of Georgian architecture appearing on the silver screen is the house in Home Alone.

What to love

The home’s classic Georgian architecture is complemented by a traditionally landscaped and designed garden. Brick and stone flower beds host lilac hedges, while symmetrical flowering trees line the central walkway. Formal gardens, stone terracing and stamped concrete complete the striking exterior before leading inside.

The interior continues the classic architectural feel with Venetian plaster walls, marble-clad passageways, limestone, and Carrara marble floor designs and polished nickel hardware. The classic touches are balanced with modern amenities, including an elevator connecting the three floors. On either side of the foyer are formal living areas ideal for entertaining friends and family. The formal dining room features a New York style with double French doors leading to the front terrace and a marble, wood-burning fireplace. The kitchen blends more modern amenities with plenty of workspace, a dramatic coffered ceiling, luxury appliances, a wine fridge, a hidden butler’s pantry and a central island with seating.

Upstairs, the primary bedroom is reminiscent of a European escape with an Arabesque marble fireplace and coffee station leading to the luxurious dressing room and ensuite outfitted with heated porcelain tile floors, a glass steam shower, a double vanity and more.

What to consider

While there’s plenty to discover and enjoy within the home, there’s also just as much to explore outside. Located in the community of Upper Mount Royal, the area has beautiful park spaces and easy access to local shops, restaurants and schools. The downtown core is also nearby.
