Ride the Banff Gondola to Experience Nightrise

When: December 2 to March 21, 2022

Starting December 2, ride the Banff Gondola to the peak of Sulphur mountain any evening and be immersed in a multimedia showcase of storytelling and nature. Nightrise is a family-friendly audio and visual experience that includes light shows, original soundscapes, video projections and more created by Moment Factory with the participation of the Stoney Nakoda Nation.

Have Some Pizza at Una’s Newest Location

Pizza lovers, rejoice. There’s a new Una Pizza + Wine location in Banff, giving you the perfect excuse to savour a slice of Margherita pizza with a glass of white wine (or two, we don’t judge). It’s open seven days a week for dine-in and takeaway and, like its sister locations in Calgary, the Banff location is first come, first serve.

Attend the Banff Craft Beer Festival

When: December 3 to 4 and 9 to 11

The annual Banff Craft Beer Festival is back in person (and partially outdoors) across two weekends this month. The festival will take place along the newly constructed, pedestrian-friendly Bear Street, so you can safely hop between bars, pubs and restaurants to sample some of the best spirits and food that Alberta has to offer. A full schedule of events will be updated closer to the event.

Celebrate New Year’s Eve in Canmore

When: December 31

Nothing says New Year’s Eve splendour like The Great Gatsby and you can celebrate in that style at The Malcolm Hotel in Canmore this year. The evening events include live entertainment, a welcome reception, dining options and prizes for the best formal 1920s attire. Tickets for either the VIP Gatsby experience ($250) or the Gatsby Gala ($150) can be purchased online. Both events are for those 18 years of age or older.
