The Fibre Shindig

The spring 2024 edition of The Fibre Shindig is just around the corner. In addition to supplies for knitting and sewing (fabric, yarn, patterns, kits, spindles and buttons), you’ll find ready-to-enjoy wares like fibre toys, jewellery, bags, yarn bowls and mugs. Admission includes entry into a draw for prizes.

Calgary Creative Arts Guild Spring Show & Sale

At this market hosted by the Calgary Creative Arts Guild, browse the work of over 30 local artists from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. While you’re there, be sure to enter your name in the raffle draw for an original piece of art.

The Downtown Markets Spring Market

Okotoks MarketSquare Spring Fling

This spring market, in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce Lifestyle Tradeshow, will feature over 150 vendors selling handmade goods over two days. Jewellery, bath and body products, home decor items and treats are just some of the items you can buy this weekend.

Palette Fine Art Show and Sale

The Calgary Community Painters Society is featuring nearly 60 local artists at this fine art show and sale. Shop for a new painting for your home, watch live artist demos, enter the door prize draw and more.

Triwood Spring Market & Plant Pop-up

Triwood’s spring market and plant pop-up will host an array of vendors offering handmade goods like soy candles, doggy beds, jerky and more, as well as anything you might need for the arrival of the spring growing season.

Ujamaa Grandmas Fabric and Yarn Sale

The Ujamaa Grandmas fabric and yarn sale returns this May. You’ll find a wide variety of fabrics and items for sewing, knitting and projects at this sale, which raises funds for the Stephen Lewis Foundation.

Little Modern Market

Little Modern Market’s spring edition is set to take place in May. Find all kinds of products like clothing, paper and craft products, handmade children’s toys and home decor.

Millarville Spring Market

Authentically Indigenous Spring Matriarch Market

Authentically Indigenous is a local, grassroots market that showcases over 40 local Indigenous makers and artists who create handmade goods, food, art, jewellery, beadwork and more.

Cost: $5, or $8 for a weekend pass

 

Mount Pleasant Potters’ Guild Pottery Sale

Local potters will be selling their wares at this market. From functional, to decorative, to whimsical creations, you’ll find something unique to take home here. Funds raised support educational events of the Mount Pleasant Potters’ Guild.

Inglewood Night Market

The first of this year’s recurring Inglewood Night Market series signals that summer is just around the corner. Celebrate that by taking a stroll through the outdoor market featuring more than 130 local vendors ranging from vintage sellers to local artisans. There will also be a beer garden, food trucks and live entertainment.

Vintage Redefined Market

This market has tons of antiques and collectibles to browse throughout the Acadia Recreation Complex. But what lands it on this list is the inclusion of repurposed and reclaimed vintage wares.

Saskatoon Farm Blossom Festival Spring Market

If you haven’t ventured out to Saskatoon Farm before, this market is the perfect opportunity to check it out. The spring market will feature 95 local bakers, growers and artisans.

Easy Days Pop-Up Market

Head down to Calgary’s East Village area to shop from over 40 different vendors and experience a positively bumping atmosphere, with music, food, great shopping and more. You can celebrate the community and (hopefully) the good weather.

U/D Night Market

The University District is once again hosting night markets on the last Wednesday of the month from May until September. Free to attend, the University District Night Market features live entertainment, over 40 local vendors and gorgeous outdoor greens paces.

Lilac Festival

Celebrating the blooming of the lilacs in Calgary, this one-day street festival has tons to offer the whole family. In addition to children’s activities and several musical performances, you can shop from hundreds of vendors along 4th Street S.W.

Market Collective

Market Collective is set to appear in a new location at Contemporary Calgary this year. Find live music, interactive workshops, snacks and more than 140 vendors selling everything from handmade jewellery, to paper goods, to puzzles.

Calgary Night Market

Head to this night market in Bridgeland to browse handmade local goods such as jewellery and bath products. There will also be food trucks and live DJs.
