Bree Wasylenko has done her hometown proud. The born-and-raised Calgarian has danced her way through music videos, including ones for Carly Rae Jepsen and The Backstreet Boys, TV shows, like the CW’s Nikita and CTV’s Bomb Girls, and she made the top 20 for season three of So You Think You Can Dance Canada. But this choreographer and dancer can also act. On March 7, she reprises her role as Miss Kate the owner of a dance studio that features an elite group of young dancers, on season two of the Family Channel’s The Next Step.

motherly – stern at times, but always wanting the best for her kids (the dancers). And often kept in the dark about what’s going on under her own roof!

My favourite tunes to dance to are…

indie electronica; anything with a good beat and soulful lyrics. And of course you can never go wrong with “Conga” by Gloria Estefan.

My signature dance move is…

a solid deep lunge!

I like to vacation…

in hot climates filled with history and great food.

My culinary speciality is…

enjoying food other people cook for me.

a Daniel Wellington watch, an Ikea PAX wardrobe, and an AeroPress coffee maker.
