How did you figure out your personal style?
“Because I’m a musician, I’m on tour a lot. I don’t like to be stressed about what I have to wear all the time, but it’s part of the job. I’ve taken a real Steve Jobs approach to it, where I have a ‘look’ and everything is interchangeable. Except with less turtlenecks, and more jewellery.”
Why is expressing personal style important?
“I think life is weird and hard and not always magical — the way we dress can just add a little magic.”
How does your style affect how you show up at work versus outside of work?
“Who I am at work and who I am in real life is exactly the same. If my suitcase were to get lost and I had to go straight from the plane to the stage, what I was wearing on the airplane would work.”

What is your favourite piece you own?
“My John Varvatos leather jacket is the vintage find of a lifetime. And this temple necklace my mom gave me from India. My brother just passed away a couple of months ago, and I love wearing his Tragically Hip shirt.”
Who is your favourite designer or place to shop in Calgary?
“My sister, Leela Jacobs. I love her current leather accessory line. I’ve been wearing her creative endeavours since we were kids.”
