Outstanding Corporate Supporter – TELUS

Protecting Communities in Crisis and Supporting Safer Relationships

Co-nominated by FearIsNotLove and GlobalMedic

In times of crisis, leadership is defined not only by resources, but by the ability to act quickly, thoughtfully and with purpose — something TELUS demonstrates through community partnerships that strengthen both emergency response and long-term social well-being.

In collaboration with GlobalMedic, TELUS has supported wildfire response efforts across Alberta’s most vulnerable communities. With more than $60,000 in funding, TELUS helped enable the construction and distribution of specialized fire skids — portable units mounted on trucks or utility vehicles that allow firefighters to access remote and rugged terrain where traditional equipment cannot reach. Deployed to eight communities, including High Level, Jasper and Cold Lake First Nations, these skids have enhanced local capacity to respond to wildfires and protect lives and homes.  Beyond funding, TELUS also supported logistics by mobilizing team members to assist with delivery and reduce transportation costs, ensuring faster deployment when it mattered most.

Alongside its emergency response work, TELUS has invested in prevention and social support through its long-standing partnership with FearIsNotLove. Since 2009, TELUS has contributed more than $140,000 through the TELUS Calgary & Southern Alberta Community Board, supporting digital tools and culturally relevant resources that help youth, men and Indigenous families build healthy relationships and prevent domestic violence.

Together, these efforts reflect a purpose-driven approach that integrates innovation, community partnership and human connection to create meaningful and lasting impact.
