Men’s grooming aficionado Michael Campbell, owner of Chin Whiskey Shearing & Shaving Co., breaks down how to achieve both a dry and wet side part.
For a wet look
Campbell suggests using Baxter of California Hard Water Pomade ($23 from Chin Whiskey Shearing & Shaving Co.). Apply to towel-dried hair from back to front and from roots to ends. Then, comb hair back and establish where it naturally parts. Finish by combing your locks to the side and then up in the front.

For a dry look
Campbell says you will need a vent brush and blow dryer. Use a product such as the Baxter of California Hard Cream Pomade ($23 from Chin Whiskey Shearing & Shaving Co.) on towel-dried hair. Comb to the desired style and blow-dry on a high heat, using the vent brush, until your hair is dried. From there, Campbell says to use the cool setting on your dryer to set the look.
