Finding an activity that will put a spring in your step in this weather can become a challenge, but Dustin Armeneau and Michael Marti, co-owners of Extreme Air Park, have found a solution.
Extreme Air Park Calgary, which opened in April 2015 (there are also locations in Richmond and Langley, British Columbia), offers 33,000 square feet of interlocked, glow-in-the-dark trampoline fun – including activities such as dodge ball, basketball, a 50-foot-long half-pipe and the largest foam pit in North America, filling 8,000 cubic feet. “I thought the market here needed something,” says Armeneau, adding that, as a “local kid,” he knew the park would be a great alternative activity for Calgarians.
Armeneau adds that, along with being a great workout you won’t even notice happening, the park has a way of bringing out everyone’s inner child.
“I see it every time people come here,” he says. “They are serious when they pay at the front desk, and then they will bounce on the trampolines for a minute to test the waters. Five minutes later, you see a 40-year-old man who looks just as excited as a 13-year-old kid.”
